ADVANCED TIPS & TACTICS:
--IF YOU BEAT IT, BEAT IT SOME MORE
Note: This walkthrough is for Hard Mode only! So if my descriptions here
don't match the action on Normal or Medium difficulty, then too bad,
you're just not hardcore enough.
CHAPTER 1: NEW ARRIVALS - DEAD ON ARRIVAL
After the ship crashes on the Ishimura, acquaint yourself with the camera and the controls.
CHAPTER 2 - INTENSIVE CARE - LAB RAT
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE KINESIS MODULE

It's not just about dismembering a monster, it's about beating them
down, kiddies! Once you've killed one or a few of the baddies, walk up
to each one and smash them up with your space boot to reveal hidden
goodies such as ammo or cash. It's bloody hi-larious!
--IF YOU CAN'T BEAT 'EM, THEN RUN!!!!!
You can't defeat every single monster that comes running towards you
(unfortunately). When you pass thru certain infested areas of the ship,
its best to freeze your enemies and then RUN to the next area and avoid
them altogether.
--RUN, YOU BITCH, RUN!
--TAKE CAUTION WHEN ENTERING A NEW AREA
When you enter a new area, always be prepared for surprise ambushes!
Check the GPS Map to find out where the objective in the room is and
quickly make your way towards the objective instead of fighting.
Walkthrough:
CHAPTER 1: NEW ARRIVALS - DEAD ON ARRIVAL
After the ship crashes on the Ishimura, acquaint yourself with the camera and the controls.
--OBJECTIVE: USE RUN TO MOVE QUICKLY
Read all the onscreen instructions from the hologram and then press the
A BUTTON to turn it off. From there, exit the ship and follow your
squad to the FLIGHT LOUNGE.
Isaac cannot do anything as of yet except walk and run, so wait until
the Captain gives the first order.
--OBJECTIVE: LOOK FOR BLUE HOLOGRAMS TO ACTIVATE
Anytime you see a door that is colored BLUE, Isaac can open it. If the
door is RED, the door is locked until certain events occur or items are
found. Approach the door and open it up to enter the Flight Lounge.
++AREA: FLIGHT LOUNGE
Inside the lounge is a SAVE STATION and the entrance to the TRAM
STATION near where Kendra is standing. Access the Save Station if you
want and then approach the only other blue door. Enter into the
computer room and wait for the next order.
--OBJECTIVE: USE THE LOCATOR SYSTEM TO FIND YOUR NEXT OBJECTIVE
Press and hold the R3 BUTTON and the hologram will map out a direction
of where to go. Enter the computer room and access the DAMAGE CONTROL
computer.
TAKE NOTE! Once you access the computer, the room will lock itself
shut. There is a RED door in the room that will turn blue in a few
seconds. Once all the shenanigans occur, quickly access the blue door
and RUN LIKE HELL!
The zigzag hall might confuse you but keep running! The directions are:
LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT. Make it all the way to the end of this hall and
enter the CARGO LIFT ELEVATOR and quickly activate it before you get
smelted by a monster!
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE PLASMA CUTTER
Once the elevator stops, exit outside. With all the bad stuff
happening, you should equip yourself with some firepower. To the left
side of the room are a dead body and a wall that has the words "CUT OFF
THEIR LIMBS" smeared on the wall. Do you see it?
Grab the PLASMA CUTTER weapon sitting on the desk to equip it. From
there, be ready for some action!
--OBJECTIVE: SHOOT THE LIMBS OFF ENEMIES FOR EXTRA DAMAGE
--OBJECTIVE: USE MELEE TO KNOCK BACK AN ENEMY FOR A QUICKER ESCAPE
Follow the onscreen instructions to acquaint yourself with the combat
mechanics. From there, approach the RED door. To the right of the door
is a purple glowing circuit. Use a melee attack to activate the door
and then open it up.
As soon as the door opens, aim quickly at the monster that runs after
you. Shoot off one of its legs and then stomp it down to kill it. Stomp
it some more to reveal some goodies like AMMO and HEALTH PACKS.
Once that's done, enter the hall and make your way to the TRAM CONTROL
ROOM. There are no enemies in the hall, so just haul ass!
--OBJECTIVE: COLLECT AND USE HEALTH PACKS TO REPLENISH YOUR HEALTH BAR
There are a couple of goodies in the next hall, so pick them up.
There's an AUDIO LOG here, so pick that up, too. Enter the next room to
find the next SAVE STATION.
++AREA: TRAM CONTROL ROOM
Inside this large room are a TRAM DATA BOARD console, a computer, and a
SAVE STATION. You don't have the necessary items to activate anything
in this room, so ignore them computers and console for now. Save your
game and then listen for your next objective.
--OBJECTIVE: USE THE MAP SCREEN TO CHECK OBJECTIVES AND IMPORTANT
LOCATIONS
Once you receive the new objective, exit the room using the other BLUE
door to the CARGO HALLWAY.
Enter to the hall and make a RIGHT turn. If
you make a LEFT turn, you will encounter another monster, so avoid it!
Enter the blue door on the right side to enter the TRAM TUNNEL. Move
down the hall and exit to the tunnel for the next objective.
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE STASIS MODULE
--OBJECTIVE: CONSERVE AMMO BY DISMEMBERING ENEMY LIMBS AND DOING EXTRA
DAMAGE
At the other side of the TRAM TUNNEL is a wacky door that is constantly
slamming shut. Grab the STASIS MODULE on the ground near the door,
you'll definitely need it.
--OBJECTIVE: STASIS WILL SLOW DOWN FAST OBJECTS AND ENEMIES
Freeze the door by aiming at it and pressing the X BUTTON. This will
slow down the door, allowing you to enter. But be quick! The effect
only lasts for a few seconds.
Enter the next hall and go upstairs to find a STASIS PACK. At the top
of the hall is a SAVE STATION. To the right side of the SAVE STATION is
the Men/Women's bathroom.
If you enter inside, there will be goodies for you to grab, so grab
that junk and exit back out.There's only one other door that is open
and it leads to the TRAM REPAIR ROOM. Enter inside for a small little
puzzle to solve.
--OBJECTIVE: REPAIR THE TRAM SYSTEM
This room contains a puzzle. There are three computers to access and a
STASIS RECHARGE STATION. Access the nearby computer to extend one of
the repair crane arms.
Now go to the other side and access the other computer to extend the
second crane arm (watch out for monsters first). The only problem is
that the second crane arm is a bit malfunctioned and only stays
extended for a few seconds.
To keep it extended, FREEZE the arm and then quickly access the
computer on the top walkway to activate the TRAM REPAIR to complete the
puzzle. A few seconds later, another monster will jump out, so freeze
it and slice it apart! AAHH!!!
Once the objective is done, collect all the goodies in the room and
exit back outside. Use the SAVE STATION and head on back to the CARGO
HALLWAY.
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE DATA BOARD
Go back down to the TRAM TUNNEL and freeze the door to exit out. Refill
on STASIS and head towards the other doorway. Two monsters will jump
out to ambush you, so be ready! DO NOT FIGHT! Freeze both enemies and
quickly enter the other door and run back up the CARGO HALLWAY.
Go to the other side of the hall (you'll see a yellow sign that says
"DANGER! AUTOMATED CARGO TRACK") to encounter a monster playing dead.
Freeze it and slice it apart. Just near where the monster was lying is
a SAVE STATION. Use it and then access the blue door that says
MAINTENANCE BAY and enter. Take the elevator down and be ready!
++AREA: MAINTENANCE BAY
--OBJECTIVE: USE THE ELEVATOR TO GO TO THE SECOND FLOOR
This area is a bit confusing, which is not a good thing because a giant
gaggle of monsters will appear here (over 8-9 of them on Hard Mode), so
you'll need to RUN LIKE HELL! Avoid any fighting and just simply RUN!!!
When the elevator stops, make right turn and follow the path towards
the other elevator on the other side. Quickly enter the elevator and
take it to the top.
From there, QUICKLY run straight ahead to the other end of the walkway
to find the DATA BOARD and then turn around and quickly run BACK to the
elevator and take it down.
With the DATA BOARD on hand, you can also access the UPGRADE ROOM, but
since you don't have the necessary parts, AVOID going in there.
Instead, exit the MAINTENANCE BAY by using the other elevator and
taking back to the top to the CARGO HALLWAY.
--OBJECTIVE: USE THE DATA BOARD ON THE TRAM DATA BOARD CONSOLE
Remember the room with the TRAM BOARD console? If you don't, then press
the R3 BUTTON to point out where it is. DO NOT GO BACK TO THE TRAM
TUNNEL! There is nothing for you to do in that area!
Once you exit the elevator for the MAINTENANCE BAY, haul your ass back
to the TRAM BOARD console room! DO NOT STOP RUNNING! All the monsters
that appeared in the Maintenance Bay will hunt you down in the Cargo
Hallway, so just haul ass to get to safety.
Inside the TRAM BOARD room, approach the glowing console and use the
TRAM DATA BOARD to activate the Trams. From there, approach the
computer and activate the power.
--OBJECTIVE: GO BACK TO THE FLIGHT LOUNGE
Now it's time to go back to the ship. Work your way back up to the
Flight Lounge and then exit back outside to where your ship was docked.
--OBJECTIVE: ACTIVATE THE COMPUTER'S DAMAGE REPORT
Enter inside the ship and then activate the main switch. The ship
malfunctions and starts to explode, so quickly exit out of the ship!
--OBJECTIVE: GO TO THE TRAM STATION
From there, more monsters will jump out, so freeze who you can and
quickly RUN back to the Flight Lounge. DO NOT stay too long inside the
Flight Lounge because more monsters will jump in to ambush you!
On the left side of the Flight Lounge, the previously locked RED door
to the Tram Station is now unlocked. Quickly run inside to escape the
monsters. In the hallway, make right turn to the bathrooms to find some
goodies. From there, exit to the TRAM STATION using the elevator.
--OBJECTIVE: BUY NEW WEAPONS AND ITEMS AT THE STORE, AND PLACE EXTRA
ITEMS IN THE SAFE
At the bottom of the Tram Station are a STORE station where you can buy
weapons and health items and a WEAPONS UPGRADE station. Use them if you
need to and then enter the nearby Tram and activate the large computer
board to complete the chapter.
CHAPTER 2 - INTENSIVE CARE - LAB RAT
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE KINESIS MODULE
--OBJECTIVE: USE KINESIS TO MOVE OR THROW OBJECTS
Save your game and then exit the TRAM. Approach the dying woman and she
will give you another Key Item crucial to your survival: the KINESIS
MODULE.
This item will allow you to kinetically pick up items (but not enemies)
and toss them aside (similar to Ermac's powers from Mortal Kombat).
Move the two large metal crates blocking the hall and toss them aside
to clear the way.
Enter the hall and pick up the SCHEMATIC and then enter the next blue
door that says SECURITY STATION. In the SECURITY STATION are two doors:
RESEACH WING and IMAGING DIAGNOSTICS WING. There is also a STORE, a
SAVE STATION and a pile of rubble that you need to use a bomb on to
access the next area.
++AREA: SECURITY STATION
This will be the main safe area for this section of the game, so always
come back here if you need to stock up on items! Now enter the door
that says "RESEARCH WING" to continue the objective.
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE THERMITE BARREL
This section will be wee-bit difficult on Hard Mode, so stack up on
ammo if you got the mad skrilla or else you'll be stuck! As you enter
the Research Wing, load up on Stasis and use it on the wacky door to
enter the Main Lab.
++AREA: MAIN LAB
--OBJECTIVE: UNLOCK THE BIO LAB DOOR
--OBJECTIVE: CLEAR THE AREA OF THREATS
The Main Lab consists of two floors. To reach the lower floor, you need
to access the elevator ramp at the other end. As you enter the Main
Lab, the area will quarantine into lockdown.
To continue the objective, you need to unlock the Bio Lab Door, which
is on the lower floor right next to the elevator ramp. Unfortunately,
the door is locked and cannot be opened until EVERY single monster in
the lab is killed.
On Hard Mode, about 7-8 monsters will ambush you from all sections of
the room. If you have Stasis and lots of ammo, shoot off their legs and
then use foot stomps to the head to kill them. It's not an easy task
but if you don't do it, the game can't continue! Move from room to room
and stay mobile!
Once all the monsters are hella dead, explore both floors of the lab to
find all the goodies. Now enter the Bio Lab door to find a SAVE
STATION. Save your game and enter the next blue door and traverse the
hall to the Bio Lab.
++AREA: BIO LAB
A new tentacle-ish enemy will appear in this area. Open the door and
slowly enter the Bio Lab and the tentacle monster will jump out. Shoot
off its tentacle to weaken it and then stomp it dead.
Search the room for goodies and then take the elevator ramp to the top
floor of the Bio Lab. As you exit the ramp, two more of the tentacle
monsters pop out for a party. Use Stasis and then shoot them down to
clear this entire area of enemies.
From there, enter the Main Lab to find the THERMITE BARREL. Search the
room for more goodies and then exit outside. It's time to go BACK to
the Security Station, but be careful!
Two monsters will be waiting in the hall, so quickly access the Stasis
Recharge, freeze them, and then RUN!!! RUUNNNN!!!!
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE SHOCK PAD
Enter the Security Station and then stock up on items and Save your
game. When you're primed and pumped, take the doorway that says
"IMAGING DIAGNOSTICS WING" to the next area.
Traverse the freaky hallway and then enter to the I.D. Wing.
++AREA: IMAGING DIAGNOSTICS WING
--OBJECTIVE: USE KINESIS ON MOVEABLE OBJECTS TO COMPLETE OBJECTIVES
This area will consist of lots of Kinesis gameplay. In the middle of
the room is a large battery coil. Use Kinesis to move it out of the way
and a duo of monsters will pop up on the other side. Eliminate the
baddies! Once the monsters are dead, you can either continue the
objective or look for more items.
If you want to continue the objective without wasting time, simply take
the nearby elevator ramp to the top floor. If you want to find more
items, read the section below.
--OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE: FIND A SCHEMATIC AND POWER NODE
When the baddies are smeared up, use Kinesis on the large battery block
(it glows blue) and insert the battery into its socket on the nearby
wall to activate the nearby door (with the red and white cross on it).
Enter the doorway to see a doctor choking on his own puke (no, that's
not a euphemism). Collect the POWER NODE on the wall and a monster will
pop up. Kill it if you want or dash outta the room to trap it inside.
Just above the doorway is an item on top (which you can only see if
took the elevator ramp). Use Kinesis to grab the item.
--OBJECTIVE: USE KINESIS TO BRIDGE THE GAPS
When you take the elevator to the top, there will be a large gap that
you can't jump over. Use Kinesis on the coil to bring it closer to you.
Cross the gap and a duo of monsters will jump in.
Take care of the monsters to clear the area. Now go around the corner
and use Kinesis again to bring the coil closer to you and then cross
the bridged gap to the next doorway.
The doorway should say "ZERO GRAVITY AREA", so use the nearby Save
Station and then whack the purple circuit on the right side of the door
to open it up. Enter the doorway that says "ZERO-G THEMAL AREA" and be
ready!
--OBJECTIVE: ENTER THE ZERO-G THERMAL AREA
When you enter outside to the zero gravity vacuum, Isaac will have less
than a minute of breathing time to traverse the area before he runs out
of oxygen. Quickly traverse the small room and search for goodies in
the lockers and then hightail it outta there!
Enter the next doorway to find a large circular door. Enter that door
to a new area.
++AREA: GRAVITY CONTROL ROOM
This is where it gets freaky fun. Access the computer to activate Zero
Gravity. By doing this, it allows Isaac to do space jumps in different
areas of the room. The perspective changes as he jumps from area to
area. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
--OBJECTIVE: USE KINESIS TO OPEN THE DOORWAY
Before you jump into Zero Gravity hi-larity, notice that there is a
doorway opposite of where you entered. You need to make it to that
doorway by using Zero Gravity. The door is missing its battery and you
need to insert the battery back in the socket to activate the door.
Jump and fly your way to the doorway and then use Kinesis on the
battery and place it in the socket to open the door. Enter inside to
find the SHOCK PAD. From here, go back to the Security Station.
As you exit the room, monsters will pop up in the Zero Gravity Room.
Jump and avoid them as much as you can and exit back to the Zero
Gravity vacuum. Run past all the enemies until you are safely back
outside near the Save Station in the Imaging Diagnostics Wing.
--OBJECTIVE: USE THE THERMITE BOMB TO BLOW OPEN THE DOORWAY
Exit the Imaging Diagnostics Room while avoiding monsters and head back
to the Security Room. Use the items you acquired and place them on the
rubble to open up a new path. Save your game and then enter the new
doorway that says "ISHIMURA CLINIC".
--OBJECTIVE: FIND THE CAPTAIN'S RIG
++AREA: EMERGENCY ROOM
Enter the doorway that says "EMERGENCY ROOM" to encounter a duo of the
tentacle monsters. Eliminate them both to clear this area. From there,
go to the doorway with the missing battery and use Kinesis to place the
battery into its socket.
Search the Emergency Room for goodies first and then enter the doorway
that says "HALLWAY A". As you enter, a gaggle of monsters will jump
out. Eliminate them with Stasis and shots to the legs. Clear them out
and continue to Hallway B.
There is another hall filled with gurneys. At the other end are some
goodies, but you will have to face off against some monsters if you
want to retrieve them, If you need the items, get them, otherwise
ignore them all and just enter the large double doorway in Hallway B to
the MORGUE.
++AREA: MORGUE
As you enter, you'll se a freaky woman doctor. Leave her be and just
continue towards the Morgue doorway. Save your game and enter through
the door that says "MORGUE".
But before you enter the Morgue, I highly suggest going BACK to the
Security Station and stocking up on items at the STORE. Be sure to have
lots of ammo and some extra Stasis.
When you're ready, enter inside the Morgue hallway for a weird surprise
and a tentacle monster. Shoot the monster down and then take the cargo
elevator to the Morgue. Its boss battle time!

+++BOSS BATTLE: THE BLUMPKIN BIZMARK
As you enter the Morgue, a gruesome scene will occur where a bat-
looking monster will take human bodies and turn them into monsters. To
finish this battle quickly, follow these instructions. Stand near the
glass windows and wait for the fully-formed monster to break it open.
Once it jumps out, the bat-thing will jump out with it, so immediately
FREEZE them both in one go and then shoot non-stop bullets at the bat-
thing to kill it off. From there, take care of the monster as usual to
complete the battle. Yes, it really is that simple.
The key to winning this battle is to kill the bat-thing first! If you
focus on killing the monster, the bat-thing will continue to spawn more
monsters and you don't want that. Once the battle is over, grab the
CAPTAIN'S RIG that is dropped on the floor to complete the objective.

++AREA: EMERGENCY ROOM
--OBJECTIVE: GO BACK TO THE TRAM
Explore the Morgue to find some goodies and then hightail it outta
there. Exit to the elevator back to the Emergency Room. Be prepared to
RUN as you head on back to the Security Station!
Dodge all the monsters in the way as you head back to the Security
Station. There's nothing else to do in this area, so go back to the
Tram and access the large computer board to complete the chapter.
